High flight
Lori & Keith in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
“My husband is an international airline pilot who flies to Europe and the Far East. When he’s away he’ll send me a text message that’ll say ‘SKYPE ME BABY!’ and I’ll pick up the computer, put on the headset, plug in the mic and it’s like he’s here in the room with me. It’s been a godsend.
He’s usually gone anywhere from 3-7 days ay a time, 3-4 times a month. Whenever he’s away we usually talk for 10 minutes to an hour on Skype, sometimes 3 or 4 times a day.
An airline co-worker who used Skype to keep in touch with his own wife told Keith about the free service. We looked into it and thought ‘This is the answer!’ Before there were a ton of phone bills, or we were doing without. We’d have to limit ourselves to Keith letting me know he’s ‘in country’ and had a safe flight.
Skype has improved our ability to communicate, it’s increased the frequency and duration of the calls ten times. It’s nice because he can share his day with me and I can share my day with him.”
